Stanmer Park is situated on the A270 North-East of Brighton,
West of The University of Sussex. The Park consists of
over 5,000 acres of open and wooded land.
I have been visiting the Park for many years and started
photographing the scenery and wildlife there in 2010.

Owl Pellet
16.04.2010
I quite often hear an Owl hooting during the day but have not
seen one at Stanmer as yet.
We had great pleasure in meeting this Kestrel Fledgling.
Sat in the rain, on a Gravestone, observing his new surroundings.
The parents were sat observing from the Church spire.
We took great care in keeping down low, moving very slowly
and of course staying very quiet. None of the Kestrel family seemed
disturbed by our prescence, so we took the opportunity to get more photos.
The Sun came out briefly..
I never imagined that I'd ever get Macro shots of a Young Kestrel!
But that I did...
A real privilege and a great honour for this encounter.
One of those experiences where it seems time has stopped.
As we walked away, the fledgling started calling to his parents,
who called back. He then he started practising flying.
Just as if he was waiting for their permission to do so.
Nice of them all to take a break from the flying lesson!
